Arrived-Angekommen

Just a quick update...we arrived in CT and are already unpacking like a storm.It is a lot of work and exhausting.Mentally and physically.
Mixed feelings and sadness overwhelmed me yesterday.I miss Canandaigua already.Then again I am glad I am moving into the house I love and have some familiarity there. The first night was strange.

This is the last entry into this blog.Our life in Upstate NY came to a sad end and we need to move forward. Please from now on check out my new blog, link to the side.
Schnell ein paar Zeilen...wir sind in CT.angekommen und sind schon am Auspacken wie die Wilden.Es is viel Arbeit und sehr anstrengend.Emotional und koerperlich gesehen. Ich habe gemischte Gefuehle und Traurigkeit in mir, die mich gestern uebermannt haben. Ich vermisse Canandaigua schon.Aber ich bin auch froh das ich wieder in das Haus was ich so liebte gezogen bin und das es nicht fremd ist. Die erste Nacht war eigenartig.

Dies ist der letzte Eintrag in diesen blog.Unser Leben in Upstate NY kam zu einem traurigen Ende und nun muessen wir nach vorne sehen.Von jetzt an bitte seht in meinen neuen blog neben in den links.

Unser letztes Wochenende-Our last weekend

Heute ist unser letztes Wochenende wo wir hier leben angebrochen.Allerdings ist alles im Aufbruch und nichts ist mehr wie es war.Das alte Leben ist vorbei, das neue kommt nun auf uns zu.Der Fruehling kam nun endlich auch zu uns.Zum ersten und letzten Mal sehen wir die neue Pflanzenwelt aufgehen.Es ist mild und die Sonne tut gut!

Our last weekend where we live here started today.However everything is already not how it used to be anymore.The old life has gone and the new one is ahead of us.Spring finally made it to us as well! For the first and last time we can see new growth come out.It is mild and the sun feels so good!

Zurueck in NY-Back in NY

After another trip to CT and spending 2 days at a women's retreat in Massachusetts, we are back home in NY. I drove 1000 Miles since Thursday. Tobias stayed at Gudrun's house and had a great time! I am thankful for the days he was able to spent there and Melissa's great babysitting skills! Carina's friends also came down to CT.and they all had a great time.Anika got to see her school she is starting soon and is in nervoes anticipation of it.She already said that her teachers in Cdga.are much nicer than the ones she will have in CT.I had a nice but very emotional time at the women's retreat.I am so thankful for the women in my life who are so supportive and helpful and the many blessings I received.Daniela and Sebastian came with us to help me pack and get ready for the move.We traveled through hours of heavy rainfall and arrived in Cdga.in 6 inches of snow.It looks like February, not April.But the kids don't seem to care.They come up with the silliest things.If everything goes as planned we will move and leave this house on April25.

Nach einer weiteren Fahrt nach CT und 2 Tagen in Massachusetts auf einem Frauen-besinnungswochenende, kamen wir heute wieder nach NY zurueck.Seit Donnerstag bin ich 1.600 km gefahren!!Tobias blieb bei Gudrun und hatte dort eine schoene Zeit, dank auch Melissa's gutem Babysitting.

Carina's Freundinnen waren ebenfalls nach CT.gekommen und hatten viel Spass zusammen.Anika war in der Schule in die sie bald gehen wird und ist schon recht nervoes deswegen.Sie sagte das ihre Lehrer hier in Cdga.viel netter sind wie die Lehrer die sie dort bekommen wird.Ich hatte eine gute aber sehr emotionale Zeit auf dem Besinnungswochenende.Ich bin so dankbar fuer die Frauen in meinem Leben die mich unterstuetzen und mir helfen!Daniela und Sebastian kamen nun mit uns gefahren um mir beim restlichen Packen und Vorbereitungen fuer den Umzug zu helfen.Wir fuhren stundenlang durch schwere Regenguesse und in Canandaigua fielen 15 cm Schnee.Es sieht aus wie im Februar nicht wie im April! Wenn alles wie geplant laeuft ziehen wir hier am 25.April aus und verlassen Canandaigua.

Tobias set the table-Tobias deckt den Tisch

Tobias hat ganz allein den Tisch gedeckt, ausser das ich die Kerzen angezuendet habe.Er hat alles so gemacht wie man es sieht.Ich wuerde mal sagen...wie Papa, so Sohn....ganz toll.Es hat mich sehr geruehrt.

Tobias set the table all by himself.I just lit the candles, that is all. He did everything the way it shows here on the picture.I'd say..like father, like son! Really great! I was very touched!

New Do- Neuer Schnitt

Grade war ich beim Friseur und wollte etwas aufgepaeppelt werden.Ich bin mir aber nicht sicher ob es was ist.Sehr kurz.Und grau.....heute abend macht Carina mir eine Toenung rein.Was denkt Ihr? Ich finde ich sehe gealtert aus.Klasse......echt "toll".

I just came back from the haidresser.I wanted to feel a little different.Well, I am not too sure about this.Too short.And grey...tonight Carina is putting a color in for me.What do you think??I think I look aged...what an irony.

Computer Buddy- Computer Kumpel

Well, since it turned out that our new kitten " Hope" is actually a boy the kids renamed him "Maxi".He grew already 100% is now double the size than when we first got him.
He loves our family and is making friends with 2 of the other cats.Cupcake still hisses at him and plays Queen. He take it in stride.He is quite feisty actually.He likes to follow me around and since a few days has discovered my little wirebasket next to the PC where I keep my bills.He rests in it like a little hen.How cute!

Seit wir rausgefunden haben das unser neues Kaetzchen "Hope" ein Junge ist, haben die Kinder ihn umgetauft in "Maxi".Er ist schon doppelt so gross als am Anfang wo wir ihn bekamen.Er liebt unsere Familie und hat sich nun mit 2 der 3 anderen Katzen angefreundet.Nur Cupcake spielt noch die Koenigin.Aber er kann das aushalten.Er ist sogar recht frech.Er laeuft mir oft hinterher und seit ein paar Tagen hat er das kleine Drahtkoerbchen entdeckt wo ich meine Rechnungen aufhebe.Er liegt darin wie ein kleines Huehnchen.So suess!

Two days before Easter Anika and Tobias wanted to color eggs.They had fun!

Zwei Tage vor Ostern wollten Anika und Tobias Eier faerben.Sie hatten Spass!

Nightly routine-Abendroutine

Abends wenn Tobias ins Bett geht lesen wir immer noch ein Buch im Bett.Meistens macht es Mama, aber ab und an auch mal Anika oder Carina.At night wenn Tobias goes to bed we always read a book for him.Mostly Mom is doing that but once in a while Anika or Carina jump in reading.

Packing-Am Packen

Ich packe wieder Kisten! Weil es so schoen ist..oh je! Meine Freundin Kathy kam aus CT und hilft mir bis morgen.Was ein Glueck.Zusammen mit netten Leuten ist es unterhaltsamer.

Tobias ist auch noch motiviert im Gegensatz zu den Maedchen.

Jedes Stueck muss man in die Hand nehmen.Volkers Sachen sortiere ich grade aus und weg.Was ein Jammer! Bei vielen Dingen kommen die Erinnerungen hoch und der Verlust.Das macht es noch schwerer.

I am packing boxes again! Because it's so nice...oh dear! My friend Kathy came from CT.to help me until tomorrow.What a nice thing to do! I am glad.Together with nice people it's easier and more bearable.Tobias is motivated as well, but not the girls.

Every piece needs to be touched.I am sorting and getting rid of Volkers things.What a shame! Many things bring back memories and make it even harder.

On the road again-wieder auf der Strasse

Heute bin ich bereits wieder unterwegs nach CT.-mit Volkers Auto.Allein.Ich werde nur kurz bleiben.Das Auto wird bald abgegeben und Tobias blieb bei Daniela und ich nehme ihn dann mit wenn meine Freundin am Samstag in unsere Richtung faehrt.Ich kenne die Strecke nun bald im Schlaf.

Waehrend der Fahrt kann ich meinen Erinnerungen nachhaengen.Was wir alles gemacht haben und wo wir waren mit diesem Auto, was Volker so geliebt hatte! Und wenn ich dort bin setze ich mich in unseren Biergarten und esse ne Bratwurst mit Bier!

Today I am driving again down to CT.-all by myself.I will stay there very short.The car will be dropped off soon and I have to pick up Tobias and go back on Saturday with my friend.I know this trip now in my sleep.During the drive I am remembering all the things we did and where we went with this car.The one Volker loved so much! And when I am there I will sit in our beergarten and eat a Brat and a beer!

Another visit to CT-Auf Besuch in CT

Wir waren mal wieder in Connecticut auf Besuch und zum Restaurant.Da wir in einem Monat umziehen neigen sich diese Fahrten dann auch dem Ende entgegen was ich aber nicht schlimm finde, denn es ist immer ein Hin-und Her und das zehrt.Es war aber ein netter Besuch und die Bilder sind gestern und heute morgen beim Abschied entstanden.Tobias blieb sogar dort bis naechsten Samstag, denn ich fahre wieder runter weil ich Volkers Auto dortlassen will und komme mit einer Freundin die mich besuchen will dann zurueck und kann Tobias wieder mitnehmen.Wir haben Dee besucht, der es gut geht und Carina war (mit Daniela) bei Ramona und hat sie super geritten! Es machte ihr viel Spass!

We went to CT again on one of our regular trips to the Restaurant and for a visit.Since we will move in a month these trips will get less frequent now which is a good thing because they start to get to me.

It was a nice visit though and the pictures were taken this morning before we left.Tobias even stayed with them until next Saturday when I am going down again to leave Volkers car there and will come back up with a friend who is planning to visit me for a few days and then I can pick up Tobias at the same time.

We went to visit Dee, she is doing fine and likes her new place and Carina went to see Ramona( with Daniela) and got to ride her really well and she had fun!

Geliebtes Pferd- Beloved horse

Unser Pferd hat den Winter auch irgendwie ueberstanden so weit.Aber es war hart fuer sie manchmal. Die Liebe unserer Kinder fuer sie hat sie aber durchgebracht.Sie hat genuegend Leckerlis bekommen, pfundweise Karotten und Aepfel und hartes Brot.Sie kennt uns genau und begruesst uns mit leichtem Wiehern wenn wir kommen.Nun muss sie bald nach CT.geschafft werden.Carinas Freundin nimmt sie auf bei sich, sie haben mehrere Pferde und es ist eine schoene Anlage.Dee ist das beste Pferd was man sich denken kann.

Our horse survived the winter so far somehow as well.It was hard at times for her.The love of our kids for her brought her through along with tons of treats, apples , carrots and hard bread.She knows us well now and greets us with a quiet neigh when we come to get her.

She has to be trailered to CT. soon.A friend of Carinas will take her in.They have several horses there and the facility is nice.Dee is the best horse one can have!

Volkers Legacy-Volkers Erbe

Tobias hat Volkers Augen geerbt.Sie sind genauso wie seine waren(nur nicht blau sondern braun).Die langen Wimpern waren sein Markenzeichen und er hatte immer wieder Komplimente dafuer bekommen.

Nun hat Tobias dieses schoene Erbe und sein Vater lebt in ihm weiter und sieht die Welt durch seine Augen.

Ich bin so froh das ich Tobias habe.Er ist immer ein Stueck Volker fuer mich.

Tobias has Volkers eyes. They are exactly like his were.The long lashes were his trademark and many times he received compliments on them.

Now Tobias has this inheritance and his dad can live on in him and see the world through his eyes still.

I am so glad I have Tobias !He is always part Volker for me.

Winterfun- Winterfreude

Hinter unserem Haus geht das Grundstueck noch weit "ins Land", mit Huegeln und Wegen und Baeumen.Alles ganz versteckt und privat.Der Huegel ist und war die ganze Zeit die tollste Rodelbahn fuer Tobias.Man kann vom Haus sehen wo er Schlitten faehrt und so hat man ihn auch im Auge ohne das man dabei stehen muss.Er hat Spass!! Anika aber auch, sie machen viel zusammen.Jetzt taut es aber schon seit paar Tagen und so langsam wird aus dem Schnee wieder Dreck.Das macht sich auch an den Hundepfoten bermerkbar die dann wieder Spuren von Dreck anstatt nur Wasser hinterlassen :-((.

Behind our house our property goes deeper into the "nowhere" and we have little hills and paths and lots of trees.All privat and hidden.The hill is a great sledding track right now and Tobias has a lot of fun.I can see from the house where he is and I don't have to stay with him all the time.Anika also has fun with him in the snow, they do lots of things together. Since a few days the snow is melting though and dirt replaces snow again.This is very noticable when then dogs come in and leave marks of dirt behind instead of just water. :-((

Another cat day-Noch ein Katzen-tag

Since nothing much is happening here, except for the usual painful dragging on, with constant thoughts of my husband and long forgotten memories who now come back to me, esspecially during the night, I have some loving cat-dog pictures to share.That little kitten thinks that we are all cat-moms.She is in dire need of warmths and touch.But she is playful and seems to like her new home.Who knows what message she is supposed to convey to me?

At least I have all my kids and animals to distract me, as crazy this may seem, but it's a house full of life and they distract me.

Weil nix Neues hier passiert, ausser das ich mich durch die Tage schleppe mit den ueblichen Pflichten, staendig an meinem Mann denkend, mit Erinnerungen kaempfe die schon lange vergessen waren, besonders waehrend den schlaflosen Naechten...habe ich ein paar schoene Katzen-Hunde Fotos die ich Euch zeigen will.Dieses kleine Kaetzchen denkt wir sind alle Mamas fuer sie.Sie will staendig Naehe und Waerme haben.Aber sie spielt auch schoen und es scheint ihr hier gut zu gefallen.Wer weiss welche Aufgabe sie hier fuer mich hat?

Wenigstens habe ich noch all meine Kinder und Tiere hier um mich, so verrueckt es auch ist, aber es ist ein Haus voller Leben und ich bin etwas abgelenkt.

Funny little thing-Lustiges Dingelchen

Dieses kleine Kaetzchen hat etwas Besonderes an sich.Sie ( oder er?) macht sich ganz schoen schnell breit hier, so als sei sie hier schon immer gewesen.In der Nacht weinte sie und wollte auf meine Decke, wo sie die ganze Zeit blieb, bzw.auf meinem Nacken zwischendrin oder neben mir.Aber irgendwie bringt mir das Dingelchen Trost.Sie wirkt so verlassen, das kann ich nachfuehlen.
Unsere anderen Katzen machen auf beleidigt im Moment.Sie sind entruestet!
Die Hunde sind ok, Boomer will mit ihr spielen und laeuft ihr hinterher.
This little creature has something special about her ( or him?).She is already making her way through the house as if she always lived here.During the night she cried and wanted to be on my covers where she stayed all the time or or my neck even or beside me.Somehow she gives me comfort though.She seems so lost and I can relate a little.
Our other cats act upset! They hiss at her and look at me in dismay.
The dogs are fine, Boomer likes to play with her and follows her around.

Hope has arrived-Hope kam

Hope has arrived in form of a helpless, tiny kitten, wet and shaking. It was just waiting for people like us to bring her in. People who can't walk by a tiny creature of God who is helpless. Found her at the barn. Her name is Hope.

"Hope" ist nun bei uns in Form eines kleinen, nassen, zittrigen Kaetzchens.Es hat auf Leute wie uns gewartet die jedes kleine Dingelchen aufnehmen.Kleines Kreaturchen von Gott. Gefunden am Stall.Ihr Name ist Hope-Hoffnung.

Zero visibility-Null Sicht

Das Wetter hat sich drastisch veraendert und der Winter kehrt nochmals mit starken Schneeboen zurueck die die Sicht auf Null bringen.Dazu toben Winde, die Sturmcharakter haben.Die Voegel werden nahezu weggefegt!

Gefaehrlich fuers Autofahren, wir bleiben erstmal drinnen.Uebernacht soll es wieder minus 20 Grad C werden!!

The weather changed drastically and the winter is coming back full force.Snowdrifts and stormy winds cause zero visibilty.The birds are practically blown away! Dangerous to drive, we are staying inside for now.During the night a temperature of Zero F is predicted!!

"Partying" While Mom's Away - Mama Nicht Zuhause

It's Carina! Mom is in Connecticut and is coming home soon. Romy, Anika, Tobias and I wanted to show you guys what good kids we are without her here ;-)
(It's okay, Mom, we aren't really partying. Just...being the little angels we always are). We miss her and can't wait to see her again!
Hier ist Carina! Die Mama ist in Connecticut und sie kommt morgen heim. Romy, Anika, Tobias und ich wollten Euch gern zeigen welch gute Kinder wir sind, wenn sie nicht daheim ist ;-) (Es ist okay, Mom, wir machen nicht wirklich Party. Wir sind nur die kleinen Engel, die wir immer sind). Wir vermissen sie und koennen es kaum erwarten sie wieder zu sehen!

House for Sale-Wir verkaufen

Nun ist es offiziell...wir werden wieder nach Connecticut ziehen.Das Haus ist zum Verkauf! Wir sind traurig!
